Welcome

The Western Australian Aboriginal Education and Training Council (AETC) is an independent body that was established in 1995 in response to Recommendation 139 of the Report of the Western Australian Task Force on Aboriginal Social Justice.

The AETC facilitates the delivery of more effective educational and training services to Aboriginal people in Western Australia through advising the Western Australian Minister for Education and Training on policies relating to Aboriginal education and training and to coordinate the development and monitoring of the Strategic Plan for Aboriginal Education and Training in Western Australia. Also ensuring that Government has access to independent Aboriginal advice through effective consultative and advisory mechanisms.
